How Important is Employee Engagement to Your Business?
How Important is Employee Engagement to Your Business?
According
to a Weber Shandwick survey, 8 of 10 employees have experienced some kind of
employer change - most typically a leadership change (45%).
As a former Home Depot associate/supervisor I can attest
to that statistic.
I started in 1999, when Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank ran
the company. In 2000,
Bob
Nardelli became CEO. During his tenure customer service and employee engagement
sank to an historic low for Home Depot. He was removed in 2007 and replaced by
Frank Blake until 2015. Craig Menear has been CEO since that time.
Also, according
to this survey, only 4 in 10 employees can describe to others what their
employer does or what its goals are.
For over twenty-five years as a
manager and executive I have encouraged employee engagement. I
can help your small business benefit from employee engagement.
