Slips and Falls - Can You See Them?
I recently performed a Mobotix security camera quote for a large Toronto-based property management (PM) company.
This PM wanted to not only upgrade their stock of older analog security cameras, but add new digital cameras, as well. The reason? Slip and fall insurance claims!
The unseasonably mild winter, with its melting and freezing cycles, created extremely icy conditions on sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas. These conditions increased the number of slip and fall claims against the PM.
However, the current security system was not up to the task of clearly recording these alledged events. Since it was difficult to prove otherwise, the insurance claims for slip and fall incidents continued unabated.
So, please note that a good security system not only witnesses criminal acts, such as vandalism and property damage. It can also confirm, or deny, an insurance claim against your company. That savings alone can pay for some new digital IP security cameras!
